Plot
An alternate reality, to the Taisho era in Japan, spirits and magic are real, and they exist, though on the scale of a sharp decline. Miyo Saimori was born, and she was blessed with supernatural talent and powers from the day she was born.
A Miserable Faith
Having come to existence from the arrangements of a pre-planned marriage, her worth in her father’s life was dismissed after her mother’s unfortunate passing. Right after her mother’s death, her father remarries, bringing with him a change in the system of their once-happy home. With his new wife, Miyo also gets a half-sister, Kaya, who takes all the spotlight away from Miyo.
Miyo is reduced to a lowly servant despite being her father’s biological daughter and first child, living her days in misery until she is of marriageable age. Her hopes of moving to a better place and starting life anew are shattered when she hears of the man she is to marry, and who he is rumored to be.
She is to marry Kiyoka Kudou, the head of the distinguished Kudou family. Despite his noble background, Kiyoka is known to be a callous man who has thus far dismissed all of his former fiancées.
Everything takes a turn, when the man behaves completely differently from how he’s rumored to be, and treats her with the utmost kindness, perhaps marrying Kiyoka is the only way Miyo has, to get out of her abusive life at home.
As they slowly open their hearts to each other, both realize the other may be their chance at finding true love and happiness. Miyo finds that maybe being arranged into a pre-planned marriage wouldn’t turn out to be so wrong, as her husband-to-be treats her much better than people she had known her whole life as her biological family.
